Climbing Walls
With rather too little light left in the evenings for proper climbing outside, the KMC
will now be frequenting the indoor climbing walls over the Winter. There are several walls
within striking distance of Manchester and members from different areas are likely
to turn up at the one(s) most convinient for them.
The KMC plans to hold a new-members meet on Thursday March 11th, at the
Manchester Climbing Centre. The evening will start at 6pm. Anyone wishing to climb
with, or find out more about, the club is welcome to come along.
NOTE: This is a change to the normal sequence of alternating climbing wall venues!
Also, The KMC has climbing related talks on a couple of Thursday evenings this year:
...so you should be at the lectures on those nights, rather than going to the climbing wall.
The KMC will be going to the MCC on the first and third Thursday of each month.
The Club will also be at the MCC on Thursday March 11th, for the new-members meet
which starts at 6pm.
The wall is
just a couple of miles from Manchester City centre.
There should be a group of KMC members there from 7pm.
This is the wall of choice for the KMC on the second, fourth and
(when there is one) fifth Thursday of each month.
NOTE: On Thursday March 11th, the Club will be at the MCC for the new-members
meet (see above).
This wall is
located just outside the M60.
Again, people from the Club are likely to be there from about 7pm onwards.
There should be a small group here, including at least one KMC member,
on Tuesday evenings, from around 6pm.
Climb Rochdale is
very close to the centre of the town. There is a small car park, plus plenty of on-street
parking in the evening. It is also very close to Rochdale railway station.
