FRCC Reciprocal Arrangements (November 2017)

The KMC has agreed reciprocal arrangements with the Fell and Rock Climbing Club (FRCC) to all five of their Lake District huts, and two Scottish huts, in return for a similar agreement at Ty Powdwr. The Committee has agreed to the following arrangements for booking FRCC huts:

1. Wardens are keen to have initial contact by e-mail or post rather than phone, to check availability. This should be followed, where dates are suitable, by a letter including an SAE for the key and a cheque for the key deposit.

2. Any telephone enquiries should be made before 9.30 pm.

3. Requests for bookings should be received not less than one week in advance of the first day of the proposed visit. If a visit is planned to more than one FRCC hut, a separate application should be made to each hut warden.

4. The SAE for the key and the envelope used for returning the key must both carry the postage for "Large letters" because of the thickness of padding round the key.

5. A cheque for £25.00 (payable to the Fell and Rock Climbing Club) as a deposit on the key must be included with each request for booking. Cheques will be destroyed on return of the key.

6. Each request for a booking must state the dates of the nights of the booking, in addition to the number of each sex in the party and their names. Proof of KMC membership should also be provided.

7. The hut warden will provide a hut key and booking card. The booking card gives Kindred Club members and their guests prior claim to beds over FRCC members who have not booked a bed.

8. Do not arrive at a hut unless you have a key and booking card.

9. A KMC member or associate member may book places for him/herself and up to three others. Written permission is needed from the warden for bookings involving more guests. Children are not allowed and all guests must be 18 or over.

10. KMC meets may now be based at FRCC huts. Only the number of people shown on the booking confirmation may attend.

11. Bookings cannot be made at a hut where there is an FRCC meet and are subject to availability of spaces at all other times. The FRCC has limits on the number of Kindred Club members and guest bookings - not more than 50% of male and/or 50% of female beds.

12. Hut fees, as of November 2017, are:

    • Kindred Club Members £9.00 per person per night.
    • Kindred Club Members Spouse/Partner £10.00 per person per night.
    • Guests £12.00 per person per night.

13. KMC members using FRCC huts are subject to FRCC Hut Bye-laws for Kindred Clubs. These are available on the FRCC web page: Kindred-clubs.

Notes

2. Kindred Club Members who intend to leave the Hut, without taking their vehicle, must ensure that they are not trapping in the vehicles of other Hut users.

3. Please remember that FRCC have separate male and female dormitories.

4. Pets are not permitted in the huts at any time.

5. Payment of hut/camping fees is in the normal manner for FRCC huts, ie enter details in appropriate book and deposit fees in the safe in envelope provided, preferably by cheque. Details are posted in each hut.
