Kendal Mountain Film Festival

Emily Thompson

Kendal Mountain Festival is the UK's premier mountain film festival and the KMC are heading to Kendal to wander the streets in our best down jackets, see if we can spot famous climbers and get freebies from the basecamp stalls. https://www.kendalmountainfestival.com

The Festival has a packed lecture programme of guest speakers, filmmakers and athletes and has hundreds of film screenings including high-profile premières plus plenty of special guests making this a must-do long weekend in The Lake District. There's even a 10k trail race for those of you who've not had enough of running KMC trail races this year!!

The cost of film screenings/ entry to talks / etc ranges from about £10 to £50 depending on how many you sign up for. An all day film pass which gets you into most films (but not all the talks) is about £35.

We've booked 6 female and 8 male beds at the FRCC hut in Langdale - I know, this is a bit off the beaten track but its super cheap at £9 a night which means you've more to spend at the festival. It also means if the weather is dry (it is occasionally in November) then we could go climbing or walking in Langdale on Sunday...  assuming you've not had enough of watching films.

Come and join us in Kendal!!
