A big thank you for all who came out to the crag on what was an extremely unpromising start to the day. Most people arrived at a soggy wet crag at around lunch time with the forlorn hope of finding an area of dry rock. Ann Wooley valiantly led April Crack, on greasy rounded rock amid the usual atmosphere of friendly banter and general verbal abuse. However the gods looked down favourable on this small gathering of the KMC, with the skies brightening and the weather improving as the day went on. The rock had dried out by mid afternoon, with people reluctantly leaving the crag on what became a beautiful evening. Fortunately the Whalley Bridge Café remained open late for a final gathering.

Once again a big thank you to all who turned out and to Sabina and Duncan for the catering. Apologies for the long delay in producing this sad excuse for a meet report.

Meet Promo:

A local meet for those not fortunate enough to have escaped to sunnier climes, which is close enough to beat a hasty retreat home given the vagaries of the British weather in summer time.

From memory Stanage offers about 5 miles of superb grit stone outcrop, so my intentions are to meet initially at the popular south end of the crag. People are however free to move on once they've identified themselves to the meet leader, if they wish to escape the queues. I plan to be at the crag from about 10.30am, so for the early birds don't move on until I've arrived or be sure to report back before the end of the day to get your tick.

Roadside parking can be found at O.S. ref SK 244829 which gives a 10 minute walk to the crag.
