There was rain. Lots. Nobody went to Standing Stones, but Emily P went and ran the KMC trial challenge route 4 instead. Needless to say she got very wet., but she succeeded in good form. Great effort!

Running Hill Pits next week. See you all there...

Meet Promo:

Standing Stones is a hidden gem of natrual gritstone. It is neatly tucked away within the Chew valley, deep inside Holme clough that feeds the reservoirs benenath Saddleworth moor. The crag is unique in that you walk down to it, but can be challenging to find as it cannot be seen until you stand on its top. The crag is home to several excellant lines and is tall be gritstone standards, having lines that top out at ~20m. It is atmospheric and remote, but approached easily in minutes (when you find the way). It is a perfect midweek crag. Details can be found here:

The meet will begin at 6pm but we will endeavour to arrive earlier. It is most probable people will be around before then. The approach while short, is made by a either a 'bog slog' or by some tactful navigation. Please review the approach notes and plan accordingly. The crag can seep after rain and is also sheltered. This means that midges are a real possibility. Please bring some bug spray, a headtorch and a warm layer too. Thanks guys, seen you at the crag.
