Roy Bridge winter meet

Andy S

****STOP PRESS: THE MEET IS FULL. ALL TWELVE SPACES ARE TAKEN****

Áite Cruinnichidh (pronounced: A-Chay Crin-nee-ca-hee), 1 Achluachrach, near Roy Bridge, PH31 4AW is a great location and is positioned to take best advantage of prevailing winter conditions as there is excellent walking, skiing and winter climbing options in all directions of the compass. The KMC last ran a meet from here over ten years ago but were regular returners, and it is still run by the same couple Gavin and Nicola who are very welcoming. At late notice, I have managed to acquire a dorm and rooms in this renowned bunkhouse. All bedding is supplied, there are good hot showers, a kitchen, and communal eating area and a good drying room. As an added bonus it also has a sauna for four people which costs about £1 an hour each.

This is for a long weekend – arriving on Thursday 27th February (the late evening is fine) to Sun 1st March (3 nights) so we get three good days out on the hill. There is an option to stay an extra night on Sunday for those who wish to. We can decide on this nearer the time but get in touch about this well in advance so we can make appropriate travel plans. We will car share to and from Scotland.

Payment: 50% as a deposit – payable to me immediately upon your confirmation – and the remainder by January 27th. If you drop out, you will still need to pay in full unless or until another suitably experienced club member takes your spot and has paid in full.
