President’s ‘Hot Pot’ & Photographic Competition

On Sunday 26th of April 2026, the annual President’s Hot Pot and Photographic Competition will be held at the The Fox House Inn, Longshaw, Hathersage.
This is a traditional event in the KMC meets calendar, giving everyone the opportunity to show off your photographic skills and to go climbing or walking in the day in the Peak District, followed by an early evening of socialising and reviewing the best of KMC in photograph and on film. If you are a non-member, you will be welcome to join us at the climbing and hot pot (Buffet this year).

Deadline for entries is midnight on Thursday 16^th April

Climbing Meet

Colin Maddison is the lead for the climbing meet which is at Froggatt this year, meet at Froggatt from 10:30 onwards.

As The Foxhouse is only 3 miles from no need to leave the crag until 6pm for a quick pint before the food is served.

Walking Meet

We are looking for someone to lead a walking meet. Could that be you? If you’re interested, email Craig on president@karabiner.org.

Photographic Competition

The competition will be for photographs in digital format in the following categories:

• Mountain Action
• Mountain Landscape
• Rock Action
• Human Interest/Digital Fun

In a break from the usual rules and as this is the first photo competition since 2024 all photographs and videos taken or shot in the last 2 years are good for submission. 

Up to three entries per person per category will be accepted.

Please:

• Send your entries to photocomp@karabiner.org
• Give details of the category into which you are entering each photo
• Name your files as follows: CATEGORY – YOUR NAME – PHOTO TITLE

There is NO RESTRICTION on file size for photographs!! Please do not worry about reducing the photo sizes.

Video Competition

For all you budding directors, we now have a motion picture category.

Entries can be 15 seconds to 5 minutes in length. Upload your entry to either:

• Your own dropbox
• Your own Google Drive
• Your Youtube Channel

Then send the link to photocomp@karabiner.org

  ‘Hot Pot’ & Slide Show: from 7.00 pm

Meet at the The Foxhouse anytime from 6.00pm onwards

The Foxhouse will be serving a buffet, catering for Vegan and the carnivores amongst you. The meal will start at 7.00pm and be followed by the photographic competition slide show.  Cost is £15 per head.
