This year, Henry (cocker spaniel) is turning 6, and he'd like to celebrate with a meet for his KMC doggy chums (well behaved humans welcome too). Plus, it will be our 5th wedding anniversary and we'd like to mark the occasion with our friends from the Club with a mixed meet of fun with dogs and / or climbing.

We have booked Longdendale Dog Paddock for up to 8 dogs 11:00-12:30. This is a secure outdoor play/training area where dogs can run around and have some fun together in a fenced-in paddock. Please note there are T's & C's and some simple rules that dogs and their owners must follow, so you need to contact us if you'd like to bring your dog, we can then give you all the relevant info for you to check. Spectators without a dog aren't allowed in the paddock but can watch from the roadside.

Just up the road from The Dog Paddock is Hobson Moor Quarry, premier local climbing venue and a favourite of the Club. So the rough plan for the day is:

  • 11:00 dogs and owners meet at The Dog Paddock, climbers meet at Hobson Moor
  • 12:30 walkers (with or without a dog) set off from The Dog Paddock for a walk that will head over Wild Bank and finish at Hobson Moor Quarry
  • 3pm onwards BBQ at our house (approx 2km from Hobson Moor Quarry). Dogs and humans welcome. Weather dependent!! We will confirm this part nearer the time.

If you are wanting to attend with your dog, you MUST contact us directly to book a place for your dog (just clicking Add Me isn't enough to book your dog into the paddock).

To register your interest for any other part of the day please click the Add Me button. We will contact all those who have registered interest a couple of weeks before the meet to firm up arrangements.

Hoping to see lots of our friends from the Club there,

Gareth, Lucie and Henry
